The Sino-German SMEs Cooperation and Exchange Meeting was inaugurated in Jinan, Shandong on Oct. 20, 2017. Zhang Feng, a Party member and Engineer-in-Chief of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, addressed the ceremony of the meeting, which was co-hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Shandong Provincial Government.
Zhang said that SMEs is the major cornerstone of Sino-German economic and social developmentand both sides have paid high attention to the cooperation between SMEs of the two parties. There is strong complementarity and huge cooperative potential for businesses of the two sides.
The exchange and development between SMEs has been crucial backbone of the Sino-Germaneconomic and trade relations, drawing great attention from the governments, said Zhang Feng.
Shandong, especially its capital Jinan, has made a big push on carrying forward the Belt and Road Initiative and vigorously implementing the Outline for Sino-German Cooperative Action in recent years, said Zhang Feng, the annual Sino-German SMEs Cooperation and Exchange Meeting has been a strong impetus in promoting the pragmatic cooperation with Germany and other European countries in management, technology, equipment, capital and talent.
“We hope the meeting can be a platform to help the SMEs of the two sides broaden the cooperative field, bring forth more new ideas in cooperative manner and facilitate the cooperation and innovation between Made in China 2025 and German Industry 4.0 to bring greater cooperative fruits to SMEs,” said Zhang.
The theme of the exchange meeting this year is “Shaping the innovation together and creating the future with intelligence.” Over 160 enterprises (institutes) and more than 800 people from 500 companies participated in the meeting.
